Richard had been at various times chairman, standing captain, membership secretary, webmaster and had maintained the club’s boats in the Longbridges Workshop for over 25 years. Richard was 82 years old and had been suffering from colon cancer in the last three years.

Richard loved to share his enthusiasm for Venetian rowing and boats. He was very generous with his time, encouraging people to learn the skills of Venetian rowing. He leaves many friends across Europe who will miss him very much.

His three sons have arranged his funeral on Friday, 17 May at 1300 at the South Oxfordshire Crematorium.
