City Barge membership is open to rowing enthusiasts of all ages and levels of experience.
WELCOME TO VENETIAN ROWING.
If you’re interested in taking up this unique sport, then City Barge Rowing Club would love to introduce you to it. You’ll receive coaching from our experienced rowers who’ll introduce you to the river and cover all the basics of this fascinating activity. You’ll be out enjoying this delightful activity as quickly and safely as possible!

Membership Options
Full Membership, £210
Full membership enables you to use our club boats and also to use the facilities in the shared boathouse. You can row in members boats when offered.
Family Membership, £420
Includes 2 parents and their children under 21.
Associate Membership, £60
Non-rowing social supporters are invited to join any event as an onlooker, a passenger, and to dine or picnic with us. They are not expected to row club boats.
Overseas/Distance Membership, £60
Members who live overseas or over 75 miles away. After five rows there is a charge of £10 per row.
Cadet Membership, £35
Members under 18 years of age.
Life Membership
In any category, ten times the annual membership.
The membership year begins in April.
Learn the Art of the Voga
6-month membership and Venetian Rowing course, £100
When you sign up for the Learn to Row trial membership, you’ll become a member of City Barge for six months, during which you will learn the art of Venetian rowing from experienced coaches and rowers in a formal, six-lesson course…and in informal lessons as well.
The six 90-minute lessons in the Learn to Row course follow a training syllabus. Once completed, you will earn the title of Vogatore, be able to row confidently as a crew member, join in on any of numerous City Barge rowing activities, and apply your £100 payment to your annual Full Membership cost.
